Purpose of the Award: The Scientific Achievement Award is designed to recognize and Honor contributions to research and science made by students or commoners prior to graduating higher education.
Eligibility:
- In alternating biennial cycles. Every second year the award will be presented to a candidate who is or has been a resident of the dormitory.
- In the intervening years, the award will be open to candidates external to the dormitory.
Selection Committee Composition: The selection committee shall comprise the following members:
- One representative from the industrial sector.
- One representative from the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, preferably from the Institute of High Technology – Chemistry.
- One representative from Ungdommens Naturvidenskabelige Forening (UNF), the Danish Youth Association of Science.
Appointment of Representatives: Each participating institution retains the autonomy to determine the process by which their representative(s) are selected.
Voting Rights: Each member of the selection committee shall be entitled to one vote in the decision-making process for the award recipient.
Amendment of Committee Rules: Should a consensus of 2 out of the 3 committee members be reached, the rules governing the committee may be revised accordingly.
Commitment of Representatives: All committee members must commit to convening at least once annually, either in person or virtually, to deliberate and vote on the award’s recipient.
PR and public statment: All committee members agrees that they will not make a statement in their official capacity or on behalf of the committee to the press, without 2/3 of the committee agreeing to this statement.
Administration of the Award:
- They will also document the scientific contributions that led to the selection of the award winner.
Nomination Process:
- Nominations for the award are open to all, with a requirement for a submission detailing the reasons for the candidate’s suitability in a description ranging from 0 to 300 words.
- Self-nominations are not permitted.
Award Prize: The winner of the award will receive a monetary prize along with a commemorative medal, with their name engraved on it.
